Septembre 2025<\/h2>

Le point sur les esp\u00e8ces envahissantes au Pemichangan<\/h2>

\u00c0 l’automne 2024, le conseil d’administration de l\u2019ALP a rencontr\u00e9 le Dr\u00a0Claude Lavoie (Universit\u00e9 Laval), grand expert qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois en mati\u00e8re de myriophylle et d’autres esp\u00e8ces envahissantes. Lui et ses coll\u00e8gues biologistes du RAPPEL (Regroupement des associations pour la protection de l’environnement des lacs et des bassins versants) nous ont r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9 haut et fort le m\u00eame message : si nous voulons vraiment prot\u00e9ger la sant\u00e9 du Pemichangan, il faut absolument donner la priorit\u00e9 \u00e0 la pr\u00e9vention de l’introduction d’autres esp\u00e8ces envahissantes encore plus mena\u00e7antes que le myriophylle.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Le myriophylle<\/h3>

L\u2019ALP a beaucoup appris de ces experts, bien plus que ce que nous pouvons expliquer en quelques lignes, mais voici en gros les points \u00e0 retenir\u00a0au sujet du myriophylle :<\/p>

– Bien que tr\u00e8s g\u00eanant et d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able, la pr\u00e9sence du myriophylle n\u2019est pas en soi une catastrophe \u00e9cologique pour le lac.<\/p>

– Une fois que le myriophylle s\u2019\u00e9tablit dans un lac, il est impossible de s’en d\u00e9barrasser compl\u00e8tement, et les m\u00e9thodes \u00e9prouv\u00e9es pour le r\u00e9duire sont complexes, tr\u00e8s co\u00fbteuses et n\u00e9cessitent des efforts annuels continus. Pour un lac de la taille du Pemichangan, les co\u00fbts initiaux d\u00e9passeraient probablement 10\u00a0millions de dollars, auxquels s’ajouteraient des co\u00fbts annuels suppl\u00e9mentaires d’environ 20\u00a0000\u00a0dollars si on voulait continuer de l\u2019enrayer.<\/p>

La moule z\u00e9br\u00e9e et le cladoc\u00e8re \u00e9pineux<\/h3>

La moule z\u00e9br\u00e9e et le cladoc\u00e8re \u00e9pineux sont toutes deux des esp\u00e8ces envahissantes qui se rapprochent de notre r\u00e9gion et qui auraient des r\u00e9percussions n\u00e9gatives tr\u00e8s graves et importantes sur le lac, ses populations de poissons et toutes les autres esp\u00e8ces qui d\u00e9pendent de ces poissons comme source de nourriture. Contrairement au myriophylle, ces esp\u00e8ces constitueraient des catastrophes \u00e9cologiques pour le lac.<\/p>

La composition chimique de l\u2019eau du lac, riche en calcium, la rend tr\u00e8s vuln\u00e9rable \u00e0 la moule z\u00e9br\u00e9e<\/strong>. \u00c0 quoi ressemblerait une invasion de moules z\u00e9br\u00e9es? Celles-ci colonisent les rives rocheuses et les \u00e9chelles des quais et sont si coupantes que les gens doivent porter des chaussures de protection pour sortir de l’eau. Les moules z\u00e9br\u00e9es recouvrent \u00e9galement le dessous des embarcations et des quais, ainsi que les tuyaux d’alimentation en eau, qu\u2019elles finissent par bloquer compl\u00e8tement. Plus important encore pour la sant\u00e9 du lac, elles d\u00e9gradent les micronutriments du lac \u00e0 un point tel que la plupart des poissons et autres esp\u00e8ces aquatiques meurent. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Le cladoc\u00e8re \u00e9pineux<\/strong>, lui,\u00a0se reproduit rapidement et a peu de pr\u00e9dateurs. Malgr\u00e9 sa petite taille, il peut modifier consid\u00e9rablement les communaut\u00e9s de zooplancton, en r\u00e9duisant leur nombre et en provoquant la disparition de certaines esp\u00e8ces. Cela peut entra\u00eener une surproduction d’algues microscopiques, l’eutrophisation (surcharge nutritive entra\u00eenant un d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre \u00e9cologique) du lac et un d\u00e9clin important des populations de poissons.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/p>

Le lavage de TOUTES les embarcations (y compris les kayaks, les planches \u00e0 pagaie et les cano\u00ebs) est ESSENTIEL!<\/span><\/p>

Il faut laver soigneusement TOUTES les embarcations qui proviennent d’autres plans d’eau. C\u2019est le SEUL MOYEN d\u2019emp\u00eacher que des esp\u00e8ces ind\u00e9sirables envahissent le Pemichangan.<\/strong><\/p>

Stations de lavage<\/strong> : Nous disposons d\u00e9sormais de stations de lavage de bateaux \u00e0 Lac-Sainte-Marie et \u00e0 Gracefield. C\u2019est un bon d\u00e9but dans notre lutte contre les esp\u00e8ces envahissantes, mais maintenant il faut \u00e0 tout prix les utiliser. Informez vos amis, vos voisins et vos invit\u00e9s de l’importance du lavage de leurs embarcations.<\/i> Remerciez votre municipalit\u00e9 d’avoir install\u00e9 la station de lavage, mais demandez-lui d’am\u00e9liorer la signalisation, de mener davantage d’actions \u00e9ducatives et de renforcer l’application de la r\u00e9glementation. La sant\u00e9 \u00e0 long terme du lac et de toutes les esp\u00e8ces qui y vivent en d\u00e9pend. Il appartient \u00e0 chacun d’entre nous, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 nos administrations municipales et provinciales, de prendre la question au s\u00e9rieux. Tout le monde doit faire sa part.<\/p>

Comme on l\u2018a appris avec le myriophylle, il vaut mieux PR\u00c9VENIR<\/strong> que gu\u00e9rir en mati\u00e8re d\u2019envahisseurs ind\u00e9sirables au Pemichangan\u00a0: une fois qu’ils sont l\u00e0, ils y sont pour rester.<\/p>

\u00c9tude sur les fray\u00e8res de truites 2025-2026 \u2013 Prot\u00e9ger les truites du lac Pemichangan<\/h2>

Notre conversation avec le Dr\u00a0Claude Lavoie (Universit\u00e9 Laval) sur les esp\u00e8ces envahissantes (voir ci-haut) nous a amen\u00e9s \u00e0 rencontrer des biologistes du RAPPEL (Regroupement des associations pour la protection de l’environnement des lacs et des bassins versants), coop\u00e9rative \u00e0 but non lucratif dont l’\u00e9quipe multidisciplinaire \u0153uvre \u00e0 la protection des lacs, des rivi\u00e8res et des milieux humides du Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>

Les biologistes du RAPPEL ont aid\u00e9 le conseil d’administration de l\u2019ALP \u00e0 r\u00e9diger une demande de subvention \u00e0 la Fondation de la faune du Qu\u00e9bec, qui a abouti \u00e0 l’octroi d’une subvention de 20 000 dollars pour \u00e9tudier l’\u00e9tat des fray\u00e8res de truites au Pemichangan.<\/p>

Pourquoi \u00e9tudier la truite grise?<\/strong> Le lac Pemichangan \u00e9tait auparavant identifi\u00e9 comme un lac \u00e0 truites, une d\u00e9signation qui, \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque, s’accompagnait d’une recommandation visant \u00e0 emp\u00eacher tout d\u00e9veloppement des terres provinciales (de la Couronne). La truite grise est une esp\u00e8ce importante car elle est sensible et constitue un excellent indicateur de la sant\u00e9 d’un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me aquatique. C’est pourquoi le soutien continu \u00e0 la population de truites grises reste un moyen important de favoriser la sant\u00e9 globale du lac et de contribuer \u00e0 pr\u00e9server le caract\u00e8re unique du lac Pemichangan.<\/p>

Dans le cadre de leur \u00e9tude, les biologistes du RAPPEL se sont rendus au lac fin ao\u00fbt et d\u00e9but septembre afin de recenser les plantes aquatiques, y compris le myriophylle, qui entourent les fray\u00e8res et d’examiner le degr\u00e9 d’envasement et la sant\u00e9 du fond du lac dans ces zones.\u00a0\u00a0Leur rapport final (pr\u00e9vu pour le printemps 2026) contiendra des recommandations et un plan d’action visant l’am\u00e9lioration de la qualit\u00e9 des\u00a0fray\u00e8res<\/span>\u00a0et de possibles mesures d’att\u00e9nuation du\u00a0<\/span>myriophylle.<\/span><\/p>

Sommaire des r\u00e9sultats de l\u2019\u00e9tude sur les fray\u00e8res de truites.<\/strong><\/p>

L’inventaire des plantes aquatiques a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 sur les fray\u00e8res par les biologistes du RAPPEL \u00e0 l\u2019automne 2025 (et dans les zones adjacentes) et la quantit\u00e9 de myriophylle a \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9e. Le fond du lac au niveau des fray\u00e8res a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9. La pr\u00e9sence de truites a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9e lorsque la temp\u00e9rature de l’eau se situait entre 14\u00b0C et 6\u00b0C.<\/p>

Des plantes vertes d’eau douce (23 esp\u00e8ces) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9es dans les 57 sites \u00e9tudi\u00e9s autour des cinq fray\u00e8res. Le myriophylle a \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9 dans 90 % des sites et \u00e9tait l’esp\u00e8ce dominante dans 50 % des sites. Les truites ont \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9es directement dans trois des cinq fray\u00e8res.<\/p>

Les fray\u00e8res de truites au Pemichangan offrent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de bonnes conditions et aucune mesure de gestion majeure n’est requise \u00e0 court terme.<\/strong><\/p>

\u00c0 la lumi\u00e8re de ses conclusions, l\u2019ALP et ses partenaires continueront \u00e0 surveiller les fray\u00e8res (et \u00e9tudieront un arrachage manuel de myriophylle le long des bords) et diffuseront les meilleures pratiques pour r\u00e9duire l’apport de nutriments (comme les phosphates et le engrais) par les humains afin d’\u00e9viter des probl\u00e8mes pour les fray\u00e8res.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
